The body of an 18-year-old man from al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, named as Muhammad Samir al Manaf, was discovered in the city bearing signs of gunshot wounds on December 31, 2021.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the victim’s death, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
