Civilians massacred by the blast of a landmine of unknown source in E. Homs governorate on November 5

Seven civilians from the same family, including a child and two women, were killed on November 5, 2021, when a landmine of unknown source exploded as they were passing by a car in Dawa area in the west of Tadmur city in the suburbs of Homs governorate which is controlled by Syrian regime forces. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, to reveal the sites of planted landmines and to remove them. We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, which will continue to constitute a real threat to people, particularly children, for several years to come.
