A man from al Sahwa village in the eastern suburbs of Daraa governorate, named as Jamal Badran, went missing on June 30, 2021, after leaving his home in the village. On July 4, 2021, local residents discovered his body on the road linking al Karak al Sharqi village and al Mseifra town in the eastern suburbs of the governorate, bearing signs of torture.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by Syrian regime forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
