Civilians killed by the blast of a motorcycle bomb of unknown origin near a school in Jarablos city in Aleppo suburbs on May 24

A motorcycle bomb of so far unknown origin exploded near al Shar’iyah secondary school in Jarablos city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on May 24, 2021, killing three civilians, including a girl and a woman and partially damaging the school.

The city is controlled by the Syrian National Army, with SNHR still trying to contact witnesses and survivors to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
