The body of a 45-year-old civilian, named as Abdul Aziz Muhammad Haroun, was discovered on March 20, 2021, by local families in his home in Marea city in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, bearing signs of gunshot wound to his head.
The city is controlled by the Syrian National Army. SNHR has been unable to identify the party responsible for the man’s death up to the time of writing. Although the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
