Massacre of civilians caused by blast of car bomb of unknown source in Izaz city in Aleppo suburbs on January 31

At least six civilians, including two girl and a woman, were killed while about 20 others were injured on January 31, 2021, when a car bomb of unknown source exploded in vital and densely populated area of al Markez al Thaqafi Street in the center of Izaz city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses and survivors to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians, and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
