Syrian regime artillery forces, stationed in the security square in al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, fired a shell which landed near al Sheikh Ma’shouq Mosque in Haklou neighborhood in the city, partially damaging the mosque’s yard and entrance on January 23, 2021. SNHR can confirm that the mosque is located within a residential area and is free of any military presence.
We condemn all attacks on places of worship and call for Syrian regime forces to bear responsibility for this attack.
