A man, named as Adham al Afein, died on January 11, 2021, due to wounds sustained on January 2, 2021, when a grenade was thrown by a member of the Syrian regime’s National Defense forces in the center of Hasaka city following a quarrel between members of the regime’s National Defense forces and its Criminal Security division. This latest death brings the death toll from the attack to three civilians, one of them a child.
SNHR notes that the Syrian regime forces have committed another violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
