Member of Civil Police killed by a blast of an IED of so-far unknown origin in Jandaris town in Aleppo suburbs on December 4

A man named as Abdul Hai Muhammad Eid al Ahmad, born in 1985, a member of the Civil Police’s Department of Narcotics Control in Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo suburbs, was killed on December 4, 2020 by the explosion of an IED of so-far unknown origin placed inside a car he was in whilst it was  on the public road in Jandaris town in Afrin city. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
