Jnaid Hanano Hussein Ghazi, a child, age 17, and Hasan Ali, killed on October 11, 2020, as a result of an explosion of a landmine from unknown source near the Turkish-Syrian borders in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka Governorate. The Syrian Network for Human Rights still trying to reach witnesses to the incident for more details.
SNHR calls on the controlling force in the area to bear the responsibility of protecting the civilians under its control, find the planted landmines and remove them. We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, which will continue to be a real threat to the residents of these areas, particularly children, for years to come.
