Two men named as Ayman al Harhir and Laith al Ghadib, both from al Sabha village in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, were arrested in a raid on their homes in the village on September 27, 2020. by Syrian Democratic Forces, who were backed by a helicopter from the US-led coalition, with both being taken to an undisclosed location. SNHR notes that no members of their family were informed of their arrests, and their phones were taken from them, preventing them from contacting their family. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of those detained in Syria.
