SNHR notes that, in light of the spread of COVID-19 cases in Syria, the start of the educational year in the areas controlled by Syrian regime forces will cause a rise in disease infection cases, especially given the high number of pupils in each school classroom, which may reach 40 per class, which is a blatant violation of precautionary measures introduced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The number of confirmed infection cases in the areas controlled by the Syrian regime forces has now reached 3,506, including 152 deaths according to a statement issued by the regime’s health ministry on September 12, 2020.
