Civilian died on September 2 due to wounds sustained by a blast of a landmine of unknown origin in al Bara village in Idlib

A man from al Bara village in the southern suburbs of Idlib suburbs, named as Hussein Fayez al Yahya, died on September 2, 2020, due to wounds sustained when a landmine of unknown origin exploded while he was walking across farmland to the south of the village on August 23, 2020. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, to reveal the sites of planted landmines and to remove them. We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, which will continue to constitute a real threat to people, particularly children, for several years to come.
