Casualties and damages in a blast of a car bomb of unknown origin in Slouk town in Raqqa suburbs on August 20

A car bomb of so-far unknown origin exploded in a local market in Slouk town, which is administratively a part of Tal Abyad city in the northern suburbs of Raqqa governorate, on August 20, injuring four civilians and severely damaging 10 shops and the market’s facilities. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses and survivors to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all killings which target civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy and the rule of law, implemented according to a strict timetable.
