A 26-year-old civilian from al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, named as Hasan Jasem al N’eimi, was shot dead on August 8, 2020, by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel as he attempted to escape while the group’s forces were attempting to arrest him for forced conscription in the city’s al Alaya neighborhood.
SNHR notes that the SDF have committed another violation of international humanitarian law with this indiscriminate killing and the perpetrator must be held accountable.
