A girl named as Jihan Sheikh Muhammad Suleiman, from Kafr Sheel village which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was arrested by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel in al Ashrafiya neighborhood in Aleppo city on June 5, 2020. The girl, who was born in 2004, was taken to an SDF  detention center in al Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city.

SNHR notes that no member of the arrested girl’s family was informed of her arrest and she has been prevented from contacting her family, who are not allowed to visit her. SNHR fears that she will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 86 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
